SAVE MORE MESA

More Mesa Stands at a Critical Crossroads

Many people assume that More Mesa is already protected open space, but it isn’t. The majority of the land that makes up what’s known as More Mesa is privately owned, currently listed for sale, and continues to attract interest from real estate developers. At the same time, state environmental protections are being weakened, creating new risks for irreplaceable places like More Mesa.

More Mesa is one of the last undeveloped coastal open spaces on the Southern California coast, offering sweeping views of the Santa Ynez Mountains, miles of natural trails, and access to one of the most pristine beaches on Santa Barbara County’s South Coast. The mesa’s privately owned acres support rare coastal bluff-top grasslands, oak woodlands, and wetlands that provide irreplaceable wildlife habitat.

For over 25 years, the More Mesa Preservation Coalition (MMPC) has protected this extraordinary landscape for hikers, runners, beachgoers, dog walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists, and equestrians. With your support, MMPC is working to permanently acquire and protect this extraordinary landscape.
