More Mesa Walk with Congressman Salud Carbajal
On April 4th, More Mesa Preservation Coalition was honored to welcome Congressman Salud Carbajal to More Mesa for a guided walk around the coastal landscape. Congressman Carbajal represents the 24th Congressional District of California, which includes the entirety of Santa Barbara County and portions of San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties. Joined by a group of MMPC Board members and community members, the Congressman experienced firsthand the ecological richness and landscapes of More Mesa.
The walk offered an opportunity to discuss the need to protect More Mesa’s remaining 265 acres in private ownership from development. MMPC is currently preparing a campaign to purchase and permanently protect More Mesa as public open space for current and future generations.
Congressman Carbajal expressed his interest and support for the coalition’s conservation efforts. We are grateful to Congressman Carbajal for taking the time to walk with us on More Mesa and engage with our community.
