Our President Emeritus Valerie Olson is being honored for her work on More Mesa at the Environmental Defence Council’s Green and Blue Coastal Celebration.
“Green & Blue: A Coastal Celebration, is our biggest fundraiser of the year, taking place in the beautiful gardens at Rancho La Patera & Stow House in Goleta, CA. Each year, this event brings together around 600 guests from across the tri-county region. At Green & Blue we celebrate the many accomplishments this organization has achieved over our years and help raise critical funds to ensure EDC remains strong to protect this region for those who love it now and those who will follow in our footsteps. Guests enjoy gourmet food from Duo Catering, local wine from The Ojai Vineyard, beer from Rincon Brewing, and unique and lively silent and live auctions. We will also present our 2026 Environmental Hero Award to Valerie Olson and our Next Gen Environmental Hero Award to UCSB’s Stop Sable Coalition. Past awardees include actress Jane Fonda, musician Jack Johnson, and Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, who are locally rooted, internationally recognized environmentalists.”
